Position Summary:

The Podiatrist will diagnose and treat minor and serious injuries or illnesses relating to the lower legs, feet, and ankles. Will be responsible for consulting with patients, applying therapeutic treatments, prescribing orthotics and medications, and conducting foot or ankle surgeries if necessary. Will also be responsible for advising on foot care and general therapy techniques. The Podiatrist will have experience with podiatric
medicine, excellent diagnostic skills, and advanced knowledge of modern surgical treatments. Podiatrist will accurately diagnoses illnesses or injuries and provides patients with the best treatment for their condition. The Podiatrist will be responsible for completing all duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

  • Doctoral degree in Podiatric medicine required.
  • Successful completion of a residency and fellowship in Podiatry required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year practical experience in a hospital or clinic required.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern surgical and therapeutic treatments required.

Required Licensure/Certification(s):

  • New Mexico Board of Podiatry License required.
  • Board Certification (or board eligible) required.
  • Other appropriate licensure to practice medicine preferred.

  • Accurately diagnoses patient and selects appropriate treatment.
  • Documents encounter completely, concisely, and on day of visit.
  • Appropriately utilizes ancillary services and referrals.
  • Appropriately incorporates MAs, RNs, and other support staff into the medical care team.
  • Evaluates the psychosocial and safety needs of the patient and /or family members.
  • Ability to consistently present a friendly, welcoming, and professional public-facing appearance.
  • Maintains all required licenses and certifications. Submits updated verifications to Human Resources
    (HR) upon receipt of updated documentation.
