Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our esteemed team in Toledo, OH. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional cardiovascular care and will play an essential role in performing advanced cardiovascular procedures, including open-heart surgery, across multiple facilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cardiovascular procedures daily, ensuring patients have access to advanced cardiovascular care in the Toledo area.
- Conduct weekly office visits to ensure comprehensive patient care and continuity throughout treatment plans.
- Primary practice based at St. Vincent Medical Center, with procedures also performed at St. Anne and St. Charles Hospitals.
- Perform open-heart surgeries at St. Vincent Medical Center, contributing to the high standard of cardiac care the facility provides.
- Participate in a call schedule of 1:3, covering approximately 7 days per month, to ensure timely and effective care for patients in need.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery, demonstrating expertise in the field.
- A deep commitment to high-quality patient care and the ability to excel in all areas of cardiovascular surgery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Dedication to continued education and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in cardiovascular surgery.
Required Skillsets:
- Surgical Expertise: Proficiency in performing complex cardiovascular procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacement, heart transplantation, and minimally invasive thoracic surgeries.
- Technical Competence: Skilled in the use of advanced surgical instruments and equipment, including robotic-assisted technologies, for precise and effective procedures.
- Critical Care Management: Experience in managing post-operative cardiovascular patients in intensive care settings, ensuring optimal recovery, and addressing complications.
- Preoperative and Postoperative Care: Ability to evaluate and manage patients before and after surgery, including performing thorough assessments and creating individualized care plans.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Patient-Centered Care: Commitment to patient education, informed consent, and providing compassionate care, with a focus on the patient’s well-being throughout the surgical process.
