HonorHealth is excited to invite applications for a Medical Director of Dementia to join our team at the renowned Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing the highest quality care for patients with neurological conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and other cognitive disorders. The Institute offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care that combines advanced research with personalized patient treatment plans.

HonorHealth, a nine-hospital non-profit healthcare system spanning the Phoenix metro area will be the primary clinical affiliate for ASU's School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering program.   Under the leadership of Dr. Holly Lisanby, a renowned neuropsychiatrist, the Neuroscience Institute will play a leading role in shaping and advancing this dynamic clinical partnership.

 This collaboration aims to develop a unique, nationally recognized medical education program, attracting and retaining outstanding students, residents, and faculty.   

About the Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute:

The Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute is located on the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center campus and encompasses nearly 120,000 square feet of cutting-edge space. It is designed to provide integrated, compassionate care to patients with neurological and cognitive conditions, offering a range of specialized services that include:

  • Integrated Care: Collaboration among neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and rehabilitation specialists to offer coordinated care plans.
  • Specialized Clinics: Comprehensive evaluation and treatment for conditions such as ALS, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Dementia, among others.
  • Advanced Facilities: A skills lab for education and a conference center with state-of-the-art technology for case demonstrations and seminars.
  • Research and Education: A strong commitment to advancing neurological care through clinical trials, research, and ongoing education.

As the Medical Director of Dementia, you will play a key role in leading dementia care initiatives within the Institute, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and shaping innovative treatment protocols to improve the quality of life for individuals living with dementia.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Dementia Care Program, ensuring excellence in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of dementia patients.
  • Oversee the development of clinical guidelines and protocols for dementia care, integrating the latest research findings.
  • Foster collaboration between neurologists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for dementia patients.
  • Engage in clinical education, including mentoring residents and fellows, as well as participating in public education and awareness programs.
  • Conduct and promote research focused on dementia, Alzheimer's, and related neurodegenerative conditions.
  • Provide leadership in enhancing patient care, focusing on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
  • Build relationships with community partners, support groups, and families to deliver holistic care and educational resources.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified Neurologist, preferably with expertise in dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical care and leadership in dementia care or neurology.
  • Strong background in research and clinical trials related to dementia or cognitive disorders.
  • Proven experience in leadership within a clinical or academic setting, with a commitment to collaborative care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster teamwork and patient relationships.
