Job Summary:
Exciting opportunity for an experienced academic surgeon to lead and develop a general surgery residency program at HCA Florida West in Pensacola, Florida.
Qualified Candidates:
- Board certified in general surgery
- Minimum of three years of post-graduate clinical experience
- Minimum of three years of academic/administrative experience
- Combination of both clinical and administrative duties with protected time to devote effort to program administration
- Strong administrative and team building skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Florida medical license or ability to obtain one
Details/Responsibilities:
- Authority and accountability for the operation of the general surgery residency program including oversight of curriculum, policies and procedures for the program
- Assist with the submission of a new program application to the ACGME
- Ensure compliance with all program requirements
- Maintaining ACGME accreditation
- Recruitment of residents into the program and developing evaluation process for performance
- Participating in competency evaluations of residents
- Developing a strong, committed faculty team with deep experience and knowledge
- Additional responsibilities to ensure program of excellence
- Combination of administrative and clinical time
