The MCW Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a board eligible/certified full- or part-time physician to join the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology as an Academic Hospitalist. Salary and level of academic appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
The Hospitalist’s primary focus is the clinical care of high and low risk patients at the Froedtert & MCW Birth Center. Other clinical opportunities would include emergent gynecologic care and surgery. The hospital serves as a statewide referral center, providing high-quality care for patients with a variety of complexity. They are one of the only Level 4 Obstetrical Units in the state and is directly connected to the Level 4 NICU in Children’s Wisconsin.
Hospitalists will work 12-14-hour shifts for a total of 15 per month including a balance of weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Froedtert & MCW also serves as the teaching hospital for the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Hospitalist will have the opportunity to teach and interact with residents, fellows and medical students who will be present on the unit assisting in the care of all patients.
Members of the Generalist Division (16 physicians & 7 advanced practice providers) care for patients in 12 diverse clinical settings associated with three quarternary or tertiary care medical centers: Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin, and Zablocki VA Medical Center. Many division members serve the Medical College and Froedtert Hospital in leadership positions.
