OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

The Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) is recruiting a BC/BE Vascular Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing group of academic surgeons. Responsibilities include providing patient care at LUMC and its nearby affiliated community medical centers with approximately half-time in the community setting. On-call coverage encompasses these three Hospitals in addition to the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, which sits adjacent to the LUMC campus.

The selected candidate will join a group of 7 full-time vascular surgeons, including Dr. Vivian Gahtan, Chair of Loyola’s Department of Surgery and Dr. Bernadette Aulivola, Director of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy.

The Division has a longstanding history of vascular surgery trainee education and currently offers a 2-year fellowship as well as a 0+5 integrated residency program. There are numerous opportunities for faculty involvement in the education and mentorship of medical students and trainees. Plenty of opportunity to engage in research efforts exist with strong mentorship and institutional resources available.

The ideal candidate would possess at least 3-5 years of experience, have excellent clinical and technical skills, and a take a collaborative approach to patient care.

Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • ABS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Eligible for Illinois state licensure
