Duke University Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Director of the Living Donor Kidney Transplant program.  This individual will be responsible for partnering with necessary leaders and medical directors to plan, organize, conduct and direct the activities of the program.

The Director will be expected to build upon and advance the Living Donor Kidney program through advances in patient care, support of the Division’s research efforts and in guiding education and development of the future generation of abdominal transplant surgeons. The Director will be responsible for building a sustainable and successful Living Donor Kidney Transplant program while achieving exceptional patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates will be a Transplant Surgeon with an ASTS transplant surgery certification at the Associate Professor level.  Qualified candidates will be board certified in general surgery, and have completed an ASTS approved transplantation fellowship. Applicants with leadership experience are preferred.

Academic rank will be based on training and experience with research and clinical productivity measures used to guide clinical track.  Candidate will be offered a faculty appointment at the Duke School of Medicine, Department of Surgery and will receive exceptional Duke faculty benefits, including college tuition assistance and an excellent retirement package.
