Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is a 295-bed acute care facility, providing healthcare services for an 11-county service area in south central Kentucky. A modern, state-of-the-art facility, the hospital offers cardiac care and an advanced neurosurgery program with Spine Center accreditation. The hospital also has a complete clinical laboratory, 24-hour ER, intensive care units, surgical services (including orthopedic and urological), and diagnostic imaging. Other specialty services include women’s and children’s services, a Level II neonatal nursery, cardiopulmonary services, behavioral health unit, and inpatient rehabilitation. Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH) employs a staff of more than 1,200 health care professionals and support personnel and has more than 170 physicians representing 38 medical specialties on our medical staff. Other unique services we provide to our region include an active Senior Friends chapter with nearly 4,000 members and a hospital auxiliary with more than 100 volunteers. Proceeds from the auxiliary gift shop provide scholarships for allied health career students at Somerset Community College. The Health Ministries program coordinates such services as: volunteer chaplains, an active Health Career Explorer chapter (BSA Learning for Life Post) and Safe Sitter classes. In 2014, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital began welcoming Internal Medicine Residents to the hospital for their three-year residency training. This new Residency Program expanded to include Family Practice Residents in 2015, and resulted in 36 physician residents and their families living in our community each year, while they work and learn alongside our medical staff at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Lake Cumberland Medical Associates (LCMA).
