Norton Children's Development Center, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, provides diagnostic services and medical care for children with developmental disorders. In 2022, over 3,000 children and teens with various developmental conditions were seen at the center. The team is composed of developmental-behavioral pediatricians, pediatric psychologists, an advanced practice provider, speech therapists, occupational therapists, a registered dietitian and a licensed clinical social worker who collaborate to deliver evidence-based, family-centered, community-responsive diagnostic and therapeutic services to children with complex developmental needs. The team also works closely with other specialists from the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine Division of Genetics and Norton Children’s Autism Center to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary care for children with genetic syndromes and autism spectrum disorder.

The selected candidate will join four other developmental-behavioral pediatricians and one advanced practice provider in evaluating children with various developmental conditions such as global developmental delay, intellectual developmental disorder, autism spectrum disorder, complex attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, in-utero drug exposure, fetal alcohol syndrome, behavioral issues associated with chronic illnesses and prematurity, and feeding disorder of oral-sensorimotor or behavioral origin.

About the Position

  • Board-certified/board-eligible developmental-behavioral pediatrician
  • Experience in psychopharmacology and medication management of complex cases preferred but not necessary
  • Academic faculty position in the UofL School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics with teaching responsibilities for medical students, pediatric residents, developmental-behavioral fellows, psychology interns and other trainees
  • Multidisciplinary setting with subspecialty support
  • Resources and opportunities for research through Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine
  • Salary and academic rank to be commensurate with experience
  • No inpatient coverage
