OB/GYN Maternal and Fetal Medicine - The University of Kansas Health System

The University of Kansas Health System’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), is seeking a MFM specialist to join our team in providing compassionate, high-quality care to our community.

Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine

The University of Kansas Health System’s Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a primarily outpatient, consultative practice, with deliveries managed by an in-house hospitalist team. This position offers opportunities to perform advanced procedures, including amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS), and fetal shunt placements.

Our team includes six (6) experienced MFM specialists, a large group of ARDMS-certified sonographers, a Diabetic Educator, eight (8) skilled nurse coordinators, four (4) board-certified perinatal genetic counselors, and dedicated medical assistants and patient service representatives, all delivering comprehensive maternal-fetal care using the latest technology.

The division is committed to excellence in education through clinical mentorship, is actively involved in research with participation in multiple NIH-funded studies and institutional collaborations and offers strong support for our medical students, residency (currently 5 per year but increasing to 6 per year in 2025) and fellowship (1 fellow per year).

Our Level III NICU is staffed by full-time neonatology specialists, supported by a team of pediatric subspecialists, including a dedicated pediatric surgery team and pediatric cardiology team.

As a healthcare provider in the state of Kansas, our practice operates in compliance with state-specific healthcare regulations, including those governing reproductive health.

We remain committed to supporting our patients with the highest standards of care in alignment with both clinical guidelines and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an ACGME Obstetrics & Gynecology residency and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program
  • Eligible for Kansas and Missouri medical license
