Join The Norton Neuroscience Institute Multiple Sclerosis Team in Louisville, KY

NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE HUSSUNG FAMILY MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS CENTER, a part of Norton Healthcare, is a seeking fellowship-trained multiple sclerosis neurologist to join its growing program. The ideal candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to multiple sclerosis care and made up of two neurologists, two advanced practice providers, a nurse navigator, psychologist, research coordinator, pharmacist, social worker and social services coordinator.

The Hussung Family Multiple Sclerosis Center is recognized as a designated center for comprehensive MS care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It uses a multidisciplinary clinical approach in collaboration with an on-site pharmacy, infusion center and physical therapy program. Access to the latest diagnostic technology and treatments, including optical coherence tomography machines and a Botox clinic, allow providers to offer cutting-edge care.

To support this growth, Norton Healthcare has invested over $100 million in developing Norton Neuroscience Institute to meet the growing needs of our community. This includes a $15 million investment in a 48,000-square-foot outpatient neuroscience center located on the Norton Brownsboro Hospital campus. This facility, which opened in 2021 and houses the Memory Center, is designed to facilitate a collaborative care model across neuroscience specialties while providing a single location of comprehensive care for patients.

Patients receive support resources through the Norton Neuroscience Institute resource Centers, which offer educational, therapeutic, support and exercise programs at no cost to the patient. Patient navigators are on staff to assist patients and families with scheduling, transportation needs, financial challenges, nutrition counseling and more.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Fellowship trained in neuro-immunology preferred
  • Ability to practice neuro-immunology and focus on multiple sclerosis neurology exclusively
  • No inpatient call
  • The Hussung Family Multiple Sclerosis Center is part of the Norton Multispecialty Clinic located at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital, and is designated as a Center for Comprehensive MS Care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Dedicated
  • Support staff with advanced practice providers, including an MS-trained psychologist, pharmacist, physical therapist, social worker and nurse navigator
  • Opportunity to participate in research, including clinical pharmaceutical trials and translational research collaborations, supported by a dedicated multiple sclerosis research nurse and support available through Norton Research Institute
  • Opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary boards to collectively decide on treatment plans and strategies with a team of pharmacists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, nutritionists, social services coordinators and other support services providers
  • Clinical support from ancillary and rehabilitative services
  • Participation in annual continuing medical education symposiums within Norton Neuroscience Institute
  • Competitive compensation package, including sign-on and relocation assistance.
    • For candidates coming out of fellowship, we offer up to $100,000 recruitment incentive, and as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) health care system, candidates may qualify for federal student loan forgiveness.
    • For experienced candidates relocating into the market, we offer a retention bonus of up to $60,000.
