The Department of Neurology at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking an additional Vascular Neurologist to join its expanding Stroke and Vascular Neurology Division, which currently has seven primary faculty, nine secondary faculty and seven nurse practitioners. Individuals who are about to graduate from vascular neurology fellowship, or at Instructor, or Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank are welcome to apply. Hired faculty will join a vibrant research community and active clinical practice at 957-bed Duke University Hospital, a house for the JCAHO certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and the Duke Center of Excellence in Cavernous Malformation. The Stroke Center also has a growing Telestroke network with eight sites in North Carolina and Southern Virginia.  Duke is one of six designated centers of Stroke Preclinical Assessment Network (SPAN) and one of 27 Regional Coordinating Centers (RCC) of NIND Stroke Trial Network. The stroke outpatient clinic has 5 sub-specialty clinics, including an eye stroke clinic and stroke recovery clinic. The Stroke Program has two ACGME stroke fellows and one stroke research fellow per year.  This is an excellent opportunity to develop and advance an education, clinical and translational research career. Ability to be involved in education, global stroke care, telestroke and/or outpatient subspecialty clinics, if so desired.   

Successful candidate must be BC in Neurology and fellowship trained in Vascular Neurology.  Academic rank and salary will be determined based on individual qualifications. Research protected time can be provided to junior faculty to endure success with future federal grant submission and continued career development.
