JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing the executive management, leadership, and direction in planning, directing, and coordinating the delivery of medical care services provided by OMP physicians and advanced practice clinicians. These medical care services are to be organized in such a manner as to achieve the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The position is a key member of senior leadership responsible for creating and improving the patient, employee, and physician experience at OMP with senior leadership level functions. Olympic Medical Center is a public hospital district, a municipal corporation organized under [chapter 70.44 of the Revised Code of Washington]. As a result, the Chief Physician Officer (CPO) must be familiar with, and understand and apply the unique aspects of public hospital district regulations as they apply to the clinical provider area. The CPO works closely with all divisions and all levels of OMC leadership including the Board of Commissioners, CEO, Administrative Leadership Team (ALT), Directors, Coordinators, Supervisors, and Leads. The CPO is a member of ALT. The CPO must articulate and apply a philosophy that includes creation of a high-trust culture that empowers providers and other employees as individual contributors and fosters a strong team environment. Initiative, creativity, and outstanding written and verbal communications are required. The CPO must demonstrate the ability to find creative solutions to complex problems. The ability to celebrate, reward, recognize, and compassionately lead is essential. Integrity and ethical behavior must be uncompromising in order to ensure personal and organizational compliance with federal and state laws related to privacy, security, confidentiality, fraud and abuse, and protection of information resources. The CPO also directs the activities of the Olympic Medical Cancer Center, coordinates provider recruitment efforts with OMC HR provider recruiter, is the lead representative of OMP in the broader regional healthcare community, and provides leadership and management for the Swedish Health Network Affiliation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• MD or DO required
• MHA preferred
Experience
• Five or more years’ supervisory experience in managing multi-specialty group practices preferred
• Identifiable management experience to include planning, financial accountability, employee relations, and quality improvement activities
Licensure/Credentials
MD or DO, current Washington State Medical License, current certification by a board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association.
