Join our GROWING Neurology Department: Academic Faculty Neurohospitalist Opportunity!

Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Neurohospitalist to join our dynamic and collaborative team as an Assistant Professor. This full-time, inpatient-focused position will be based at both the High Point, NCBH campus and WFBH’s flagship campus, with responsibilities that include providing inpatient consults, rounding on established patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality inpatient neurology consults, rounding on established patients, and after-hours coverage for the inpatient service.
  • Participate in weekend rounding as required.
  • Provide neurology services at High Point, NCBH campus, with potential coverage of both adult general neurology and stroke services.
  • Work closely with adult faculty at WFBH to facilitate patient transfers, including acute stroke patients who require transfer to a higher level of care.
  • Support the teleconsult service, covering a variety of sites, including DMC, HPMC, LMC, and WRMC.
  • Serve as a liaison for transferring patients between facilities, ensuring continuity of care and timely intervention for critical neurological conditions.
  • Opportunities to engage in virtual consultative services, further enhancing the reach of WFBH’s neurology expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology.
  • Experience in providing inpatient consults, including acute stroke management, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with referring physicians and staff at multiple locations.
  • The ability to manage a high-acuity patient population, with particular attention to stroke and general neurology services.
  • A commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, and service.
