Assistant Professor of Family & Preventive Medicine  
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Family Practitioner for our Northwest Arkansas Family Medicine Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).  Position is 90% clinical and 10% clinical admin. The compensation package includes competitive salary and generous benefits.  
 
Situated in the Northwestern corner of Arkansas, Fayetteville has a wonderful mid-western culture, friendly people, and great scenic beauty. The climate is mild with a warm summers and no specific dry season which makes it conducive to outdoor activities and sports. Northwest Arkansas is home to the world famous Crystal Bridges Art Museum, the University of Arkansas,  and world class gravel biking.  The area  is also home to three of the largest companies in the world, including Walmart, Tyson and JB Hunt. Arkansas is a favorite vacation spot for many with attractions that include Blanchard Springs Caverns, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Crater of Diamonds State Park, Buffalo National River, Greers Ferry Lake, Hot Springs National Park, Quartz Crystal Mines, and much more. 

Job Description  
The Department of Family & Preventive Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences invites applications for a Board-certified family physician and faculty member, who will actively participate in resident mentorship, research, and scholarly activity related to Family Medicine. The Northwest Arkansas Family Medicine clinic has two locations in Fayetteville and Springdale, Arkansas, population ~500,000. 
Applicants must possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arkansas. Applicants must demonstrate experience and competence in teaching and patient care. The successful candidate will become an employee of The University of Arkansas with an annual salary based on experience and a full benefits package. Job Responsibilities:
Applicants cover residents in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, and express clinics. Duties also include teaching residents and medical students in the provision of patient care, participating in patient safety and quality project teams and serving as leader and role model for residents. The successful candidate will provide outstanding care to patients and work collaboratively with other faculty members to help advance a high-quality Family Medicine Residency Program.

Little Rock is located in a beautiful part of the country. There are many state parks that are well maintained and offer ample opportunities for outdoor activities.

Little Rock thrives in “New South” culture, offering a booming nightlife, entertainment, and dining scenes. The hub of Little Rock is the bustling River Market District featuring restaurants, shops, bars, nightlife, museums and hotels as well as the area's main library. Focal points in the city include the Clinton Presidential Center & Park and the Central Arkansas Nature Center. The city is also home to 15 miles of scenic riverfront walking and cycling trails, along with one of the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridges in America. One highlight is that golf can be played 12 months a year. Arkansas is famous for its green timber duck hunting, bass fishing and even trout fishing on the world famous White River tail water. The Buffalo River, a pristine floatable 120-mile long protected national park is two hours from downtown Little Rock. Travel is relatively easy due to the close proximity of the Little Rock National Airport and a number of interstate highways. Memphis is 140 miles east, St. Louis is 360 miles north, Dallas is 325 miles southwest and New Orleans is 420 miles south. Moreover, the Little Rock School District has approximately 25,000 students, who are educated in 50 schools throughout the system, and is also the home of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
