Dentist - VCU Health's Community Memorial Hospital

VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital is seeking a dentist to join our team!

CMH Family Dental Services is designed to be actively engaged with overall health of everyone we serve. Utilizing a medical model of dentistry, CMH Family Dental Services will coordinate care with the other provider clinics located inside the C.A.R.E. Building on the CMH campus as well as other CMH specialists. 

• Our current model includes 1 Dentist, 2 Registered Hygienists, and 2 Dental Assistants; we have 2 Operatories for the Dentist, and 4 Hygiene chairs;
• Our annual volume is approximately 5,000 visits between the Dentist and 2 Registered Hygienists
• The Dentist currently has capacity to see 12-14 of his own patients for procedures including problem exams, root canals, core build-ups and crowns, alveoplasty, simple and surgical extractions, fillings, and dentures;
• The 2 Registered Hygienists each see up to 8 patients per day - all new patients receive a comprehensive exam, which is performed by the Dentist, and repeat patients due for a periodic exam are also performed by the Dentist.

The current primary service area is around 90,000, covering Mecklenburg, Lunenburg, and Brunswick Counties with a secondary service area extending into North Carolina.

Required qualifications -

• Candidates must have completed an accredited DDS or DMD program and be board certified or board eligible in General Dentistry
• Possess / maintain a current unrestricted license to practice Dentistry in Virginia, or eligible to obtain
• Demonstrate expertise working in and fostering a diverse environment or commitment to do so

VCU Health CMH is a state of the art facility, opened in 2017, which includes the opening of a labor and delivery unit.  CMH also provides a wide array of in-patient services, including acute care and long-term care along with many outpatient programs such as home health, hospice and many others. Since our inception, we have grown to be one of the area’s largest employers with approximately 800 employees, 200+ volunteers and 85 physicians, representing 30 medical specialties, on staff.

The new 166,700 square foot technologically-advanced facility features 70 private patient rooms and baths, including 10 intensive-coronary care rooms, four LDRP’s (single room obstetrical care) and bariatric rooms that are specially equipped with ceiling mounted lifts to ensure patient and staff safety.

The facility includes three operating room suites, a cesarean section suite, and a 16 bay emergency department.

The hospital has a permanent cardiac catheterization lab to provide the most advanced cardiac care in the region and a full complement of diagnostic services including MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, cardiac, vascular and pulmonary studies.  With the new hospital, obstetrics also return to the region.
