First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is looking to employ two (2) OB/GYNs for practice locations in Sarasota and Venice, Florida. We are located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa and 1.5 hours north of Ft. Myers on the West Coast of Florida.
Our OB/GYNs see patients in the clinic setting, provide surgical services in the hospital, and collaborate with our employed OB Hospitalists who provides 24/7 in-house coverage of the OB ECC and any unassigned expectant mothers.
Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) is listed among U.S. News’ 50 Best Hospitals for Obstetrics/Gynecology Care and they performed over 4,200 deliveries in 2024. Sarasota Memorial also received level III Maternal Care Verification from the Joint Commission in 2023, in collaboration with the American College of Obstetrics.

SMH-Venice opened in October 2021 and is now doing 290 GYN Surgeries and 300 deliveries a year. They are on track for over 500 deliveries in FY 25. Due to the growth and the needs of the south county community, the hospital expanded to 212 patient rooms, 8 operating rooms and 61 exam rooms in the Emergency Care Center. SMH-Venice was designed with the future in mind and plans to more than double in size to 400 beds and 16 surgical suites in the near future.
