Our physician-led group is currently seeking strong leaders in cardiothoracic anesthesia to provide coverage at WakeMed Raleigh, with opportunities to help at our nearby sites as well.

CASEWORK AND SCHEDULE

The Heart and Vascular Center at WakeMed is an award-winning and highly recognized site by the AHA. The WakeMed Raleigh site ranks #1 in the country for CABG mortality rate based on CMS data.
Our cardiac anesthesiologists perform approximately 750 cardiac pump cases per year, this includes CABG, valve surgery, and aortic arch surgery. Over 150 structural cases are performed annually, including TAVR, MitraClip, and Watchman/Amulet where the anesthesiologist will perform the TEE and supervise the anesthetic. No VADs, no transplants and we do ECMO cases that are usually transferred for management. Additionally, we have a well-established Enhanced Recovery After Cardiac Surgery (ERACS) protocol for maximizing cardiothoracic surgery outcomes and efficiency.
