Duke Health, Duke Cancer Institute, and the Department of Medicine’s Division of Hematologic Malignancies & Cellular Therapy are recruiting Clinician/Educators and Clinical Associates in both academic and community settings in several different disease programs.

Positions available at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC:

  • Clinician/Educator (80-90% clinical; 10-20% academic)
  • Board Certification in Hematology and/or Oncology required
  • Faculty appointment = Regular rank appointment (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) commensurate with academic achievement and experience
  • Disease focus = singular disease focus in either Leukemia/MDS, Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), CLL & Lymphoma, or Multiple Myeloma & Plasma Cell Disorders
  • Clinical responsibilities include:
    • Outpatient Clinic and Coverage of Infusion Services at Duke Blood Cancer Center
    • Inpatient Rounding on Blood Cancer Service
  • Academic responsibilities include:
    • Clinical Research
    • Education = teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings

Positions available at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC:

  • Clinician/Educator (90-100% clinical; 0-10% academic)
  • Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology required
  • Faculty appointment = Regular rank appointment (Assistant Professor) or Non-regular rank appointment (Clinical Associate)
  • Disease focus = Disease concentration in all Hematologic Malignancies or opportunity to concentrate in Leukemia, Lymphoma, or Myeloma, but with ability to consult on all solid tumors and hematology (benign and malignant)
  • The ideal candidate will (1) have interest in building a strong hematologic malignancies practice to serve Raleigh and surrounding communities, and (2) work closely with the Duke Blood Cancer Center in Durham to coordinate clinical care (including participation in tumor boards) and enroll in clinical trials
  • Clinical responsibilities include:
    • Outpatient Clinic and Coverage of Infusion Services at Duke Raleigh Cancer Center
    • Inpatient Consultation on Hematology/Oncology Service (staffed by Hospitalists)
  • Academic responsibilities include:
    • Clinical Research
    • Education = teaching of fellows in the outpatient setting
    • Participation in weekly Duke Hematologic Malignancies grand rounds and disease-specific tumor boards
