Opportunity Details

Pine Rest is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist - Adult or Geriatric to join two other psychiatrists in providing care in our 26 bed Older Adult inpatient Unit.

Overview:

  • Weekday coverage includes psychiatric admissions, subsequent care visits and discharges. 
  • 9-13 patient visits per day
  • Other weekday duties include -
    • Multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings
    • 1st and 2nd clinical certification if the patient needs involuntary inpatient admission
    • Court hearings for involuntary hospitalization and peer to peer payors
    • Meetings with unit manager, staff and families
    • Working with medical students and residents and collaboration with Advanced Practice Professionals. 
  • One weekend of inpatient coverage per month. 
  • No mandatory night call.

Compensation includes base salary + pay for the required weekend coverage.

Embedded in West Michigan since 1910, Pine Rest is the 4th largest freestanding Mental Health Provider in the country.  Our nearly 200 inpatient psychiatry beds include units for adults, children and teens, older adults, dual diagnosis, and higher functioning populations.  In addition to our inpatient hospital, Pine Rest has a broad continuum of services that includes partial hospitalization, detox, short term and long-term residential programs for both adults and children.   Pine Rest will be breaking ground next year on a new Pediatric Behavioral Health Center to expand inpatient capacity, partial hospitalization programs, outpatient services, a new residential treatment facility for autistic children, in addition to a pediatric psychiatric urgent care and new specialty clinics for eating disorders, depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
