We currently have growth opportunities in Geisinger’s Western and Northeast regions to work as a board-certified/board-eligible Hand Surgeon. You would have the opportunity to work with a team including 85 physicians, 90 advanced practitioners and 575 employees, providing comprehensive care for patients with orthopaedic foot and ankle, hand and wrist, elbow and shoulder, hip and knee, sports medicine, trauma and cancer conditions throughout the Musculoskeletal Institute. Geisinger’s Western Region supports two areas – State College and Lewistown.
Geisinger Healthplex State College is located on 52 acres off the I-99 interchange in Patton Township, Centre County. First opened in August of 2008 as a multi-specialty clinic that has expanded to include an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Our staff members focus on delivering the best quality of care to the members of Centre County. With specialty supports like Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the staff provides the highest-level expertise for your physicals, sick visits and follow-up care after illness or injury.
Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH) has been a part of the Geisinger family since 2013, providing high-quality, coordinated, patient-centered care for residents of Mifflin County and beyond. The hospital has been part of the Lewistown community for more than 100 years since first opening in 1908. GLH provides inpatient, outpatient, wellness and community services while employing over 1,000 full-time and part-time employees and providing a medical staff consisting of more than 150 physicians and allied health practitioners representing specialties ranging from family medicine, internal medicine, and cardiology to infectious disease and general/cardiovascular surgery.
Geisinger’s Northeast Region supports two areas – Wilkes-Barre and Scranton – with a total of 3 hospitals, a multi-disciplinary Healthplex in Pittston (centrally located in-between the two areas), and numerous MSKI outpatient clinics. The ability to work with local semi-professional teams, including Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (a Pittsburgh Penguin minor league hockey farm team) and the Scranton/ the Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (a New York Yankees MLB farm team).
Conveniently located off Interstate 81 in Pittston, Geisinger Healthplex CenterPoint offers a variety of medical services for children and adults including surgery and endoscopy; bone, muscle and joint care; urologic services; eye care and eyewear; and physical and occupational therapy, as well as laboratory and diagnostics.
