Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is Seeking Cardiac Electrophysiology Faculty in New Brunswick, NJ

Summary

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Faculty will be a core member of the Electrophysiology section with a potential opportunity to participate in an EP Fellowship program. The candidate will have regular rotation to cover electrophysiology consult services and in-patient and out-patient clinics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This will be a full-time, academic position with vast clinical, research and teaching opportunities.
  • Demonstrate academic and research excellence in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, in particular VT and AF ablation.
  • Steer the direction of the EP Fellowship Program, engaging faculty and staff in programmatic endeavors.
  • Opportunity to teach medical students, residents and fellows
  • Lead the expansion of complex ablation at RWJBH, specifically VT and atrial fibrillation ablation, and provide direct supportive roles for other faculty, providers and health-care professionals serving the electrophysiology program.
  • Develop a VT ablation program including structured elements to support growth of the program
  • Lead innovation initiatives in concert with technology transfer, research groups, and the Research Institute to facilitate growth of RWJBH cardiology as a national leader in technology innovation
  • Serve as clinical cardiologist for electrophysiology and collaborate with the RWJBH health system in developing patient referral practices. Serve in-patient and outpatient clinic rotations.
  • Develop clinical trials and participate in extramural funding mechanisms.
  • Have dedicated FTE to meet the administrative requirements of the position.
  • Contribute to and participate in the development and maintenance of the Division’s mission.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Section Chief, Electrophysiology, Chief of Cardiology and Chair of Medicine.

Education/Qualification 

  • Candidate must possess a MD and have achieved or are eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor
  • Expertise in complex ablation including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in structural heart disease and implantation of bi-ventricular pacemakers/ICDs
  • Prior experience working in an academic health facility is preferred

Certificates/Licenses 

  • Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Electrophysiology
  • Eligible for licensure in New Jersey
