Medical Oncologist

About this role: 

As a Medical Oncologist, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.?

• You will practice at both Utah Valley Hospital and American Fork Hospital

• Outpatient clinical practice with inpatient consult responsibilities

• Inpatient oncology services are managed by hospitalist service

• Full-service infusion lab and therapeutic radiology on-site

• Team approached care with care managers available to help patients navigate their cancer care

• Outpatient and inpatient palliative care team support

• Oncology urgent care clinic available to patients

• Employment position with the Intermountain Medical Group 

• This position includes a $50,000 sign-on bonus, up to $20,000 in relocation assistance, stipend and $75,000 in student loan repayment when applicable

What you’ll bring: 

• MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine 

• ACGME accredited residency training in Medical Oncology  

• ABMS board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology

• Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 

• BLS certification and DEA 

• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process 

• Candidates requiring Visa sponsorship will be reviewed on an individual basis

The short drives to Salt Lake City (35 miles away) and Provo (11 miles away) offer close proximity to two major cities and universities.  American Fork Hospital is a 90-bed acute care facility with over 200 physicians representing 30 specialties.   

Provo is the heart of Utah County with the population exceeding over 102K. It is one of the best places to live in the US with abundant seasonal recreation, great schools, and a reasonable cost of living.  Provo is a beautiful university community built along the slopes of the majestic Wasatch Mountains. It is a bustling community that provides the advantages of a small-town lifestyle along with the amenities offered in more cosmopolitan areas. Exciting outdoor adventures include hiking, backpacking, sightseeing, and skiing. Utah Lake, just west of Provo affords excellent water sports, including fishing. As the home of Brigham Young University, and Utah Valley University 5 miles away, Provo offers outstanding college sporting events and several cultural entertainments. It is a short 45-minute drive from Salt Lake City, which hosts a variety of professional sports and cultural events.
