We are seeking an energetic board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Hospitalist who is focused on taking a lead role in delivering high quality, evidence based care. Located in Gateway Hospital, a 200 bed acute care facility, our 17 bed (13 regular beds+ 4 PICU beds) pediatric unit and skilled pediatric team are equipped to deliver high quality care to a growing regional referral base. In addition to providing for the pediatric needs of our region, the unit also supports an expanding pediatric subspecialist team. Find yourself on the leading edge of pediatric care working with a team absolutely committed to being the regional leader in pediatrics. This position will work 14/15 days/month (flexible schedule). Shifts are 24 hours. Physician is expected to be available for admissions while working, but physician’s presence on-site is not required for the entire 24-hour shift (8 hours minimum on-site). There is an opportunity for teaching with Deaconess Family Medicine Residents or Indiana University Medical Students. Call schedule is every 3rd weekend. Physician will supervise on-site 12-hour shifts of APP support with teaching and training. Physician also covers the newborn nursery and take a rotation of not on staff baby coverage for physicians or pediatricians who don’t see their inpatient newborns.
