The prestigious VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System nestled in Cleveland, Ohio has an opening for a Chief of Psychiatry Department. This 5-star medical center is a leading healthcare system, innovative care, and teaching facility with healthcare services at 20 locations in northeast Ohio. The opportunity allows you to participate in the development of overall management objectives, and philosophies and provide top-notch leadership to a warm & collegial staff of 74 VA employees. Have final decision-making authority, responsibility, and accountability on all issues affecting the Psychiatric Service, i.e., inpatient; outpatient; research; emergency medicine department, gambling addiction, etc., and ensure compliance with excellent standards of patient care. The mix of administrative vs. clinical is 40% clinical responsibilities with the remainder of administrative duties.
The Cleveland VA has a primary academic affiliation with Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, and several other agreements with Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth. Therefore, ensure all psychiatric residency and fellowship training programs and medical student education mandates are met in coordination with program coordinators, internally and externally.
The best-qualified individual shall have at least five leadership experience; have some research experience; teaching; residency program experience; interaction with local programs; VA experience.

Recruitment/Relocation Incentives
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
