We’re seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist for an exciting opportunity in the Section of Pediatric Nephrology at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a comprehensive pediatric kidney care program within Ochsner’s Health’s regional health system, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in the Gulf South.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

Clinical Care

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient kidney care for children with acute, chronic and end-stage renal disease.

  • Partner with medical and surgical colleagues to serve children with complex conditions in multidisciplinary programs.


Program Development

  • Opportunity for qualified candidates to develop a pediatric kidney transplant program to complement existing pediatric liver, heart, and bone marrow transplant programs.


Teaching and Research

  • Teach medical students, residents, and allied health students.

  • Clinical and translational research opportunities abound for qualified candidates.

  • Academic appointment commensurate with experience.

Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children’s™) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of Medicine.
