Overview

The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks Infectious Disease candidates for a position as Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, depending upon experience.  The candidate must hold an MD/DO degree or equivalent, be BC/BE in Pediatrics along with BC/BE in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and will hold or are eligible for an Illinois physician license.  This is a faculty positon, as such requires providing clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, research and scholarly activities.  We offer the medical sophistication of a major referral center and cultural diversity in a family oriented community without bi city hassles or cost of living.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services (inpatient mainly and outpatient).
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents and other health professionals.
  • Conduct clinical and/or basic research in the field of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
  • Participate I infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship committees.
  • Provide phone consultations for other hospitals and Pediatric offices in Illinois
  • Provide guidance for community outbreaks (measles and tuberculosis).

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty (ies).
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
