The Division of Gastroenterology at St Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston, MA, has a faculty position opening for a well-qualified gastroenterologist with a special interest or advanced training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Applicants will have completed training in Gastroenterology with further specialized training or extensive clinical experience in IBD. Candidates would join an established hospital-based gastroenterology group and will develop a significant specialty focused practice that includes inpatient, outpatient, and procedural gastroenterology.

The Division of Gastroenterology has a robust outpatient Digestive Disease Center with physicians, nurse practitioners and an outstanding clinical support staff. The center provides comprehensive and integrated care to patients with a wide range of digestive disorders, with access to the state-of-the-art endoscopy unit at the hospital, and an outpatient infusion service.

St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center features a state-of-the-art Endoscopy Unit with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures that include ERCP, EUS, endoluminal stenting, endotherapy Barrett’s esophagus and other advanced endoscopic procedures, an integrated medical and surgical intensive care unit, outstanding subspecialty services, and a busy bariatric and colorectal surgery program.

Candidates are expected to teach medical students, medical residents, and gastroenterology fellows. Candidates should be BC/BE in Gastroenterology, able to obtain a Massachusetts medical license, and meet hospital credentialing requirements. St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center serves as the tertiary care hospital for Steward Health Care in Massachusetts and is a teaching hospital of Boston University School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine. This position features a medical school Faculty appointment commensurate with background and experience, and an appointment as the Clinical Director of the Ambulatory Services at the Digestive Disease Center.
