The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, is seeking a clinically oriented and energetic CHF/VAD/Heart Transplant cardiologist to join the Division of Advanced Heart Failure Therapeutics & Cardiac Transplantation. Currently, the division has 5 ABIM Board-certified CHF/VAD/Heart Transplant faculty members, all of whom trained at world-class institutions. In addition, there are 2 highly skilled and dedicated CVTS surgeons on the KU team. The CHF/VAD/Heart Transplant Program at KU is very robust and has seen exponential growth in volume over the past 5-6 years. Over the past 5 years, KU has performed 40-47 heart transplants and 45-50 LVADs per year. Over the next 3-5 years, the program is looking to grow to 60-80 heart transplants per year along with 50-70 LVADs per year. Finally, the program has significant and unwavering support from the institution regarding nursing and physician extender support as well as infrastructure support.
