Hospital Description

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds), not-for-profit hospital serving the communities on the south shore of Long Island in West Islip, New York. Good Samaritan’s high-quality medical services extend across the continuum of care to all disciplines, both for inpatients and outpatients. Good Samaritan is one of the largest providers of emergency services on Long Island. The Ambulatory Surgery Department, where patients have same-day procedures, treats an average of almost 300 patients each week. Pediatric patients are treated in the Pediatric Emergency Department and, if necessary, admitted to the Pediatric Unit or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Pediatric sub-specialists are available around the clock to support these medical services.
