Geisinger, one of the premier tertiary medical systems on the east coast, serving the northeast and central Pennsylvania regions, is recruiting an OB Laborists/Hospitalist to join the team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical (GWV) Center, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The ideal candidate will be a more seasoned candidate, great team player, experience working with midwives and enjoys co-managing with them. Opportunities exist for working with both medical students and residents. In this role you will focus on giving inpatient care to pregnant women, managing labor and delivery on both an emergency and routine basis. GWV has roughly 1900 deliveries per year, and GCMC close to 500 in year 1 of being open.
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) is an acute care hospital that is licensed for 274 beds and houses the only Level II trauma center in Luzerne County. The campus includes the Frank M. and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center (which is being expanded and will feature 4 stories with an 18-bed inpatient unit), the Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital, the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Unit which consists of a level II NICU and a transplant program. Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is GWV’s ambulatory campus.
Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) is an acute, tertiary-care hospital licensed for 293 beds that offers expansive ranges of services through multiple departments. We have a brand-new birthing suite featuring state of the art rooms and an OR Room.
