Practice Wound Care in Award-Winning Community of Saratoga Springs, New York

Saratoga Hospital Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine seeks a residency-trained physician (MD/DO) to join a rapidly expanding Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine program, in Saratoga Springs, New York. This is a combined clinical and leadership role as Medical Director of our program. Our current Medical Director plans to retire in January.  A new grad or early career physician may start in associate role and work into Medical Directorship position quickly.  Work in collaboration with a highly experienced physician assistant. A second APP will be joining us soon.

Our physicians and their families enjoy exceptional quality-of-life in our family-friendly community of Saratoga Springs and surrounding towns in which they live. Saratoga Springs is a jewel of the Capital - Saratoga Region, which includes Albany, Schenectady and Troy. Our walkable downtown, access to music and cultural events, good schools and childcare, proximity to open space within our community and surrounding towns and villages with the Adirondacks – just north, make this a highly desirable place for those seeking lifestyle!

The compensation range is $260K to $300K.

The selected physician will provide services for a full spectrum of Saratoga Hospital Medical Group wound care patients, as well as patients from around the Capital Region, in the outpatient setting. Our practice is located in a recently built state-of-the-art space, adjacent to other medical group specialists and primary care providers. Located just outside of downtown Saratoga in recently converted retail space, this location provides convenient access for patients and staff.  Saratoga Hospital Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is a leading provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary wound care services within the region.

Services provided:

Hyperbaric oxygen treatment • Negative pressure/wound vacs • Bioengineered skin substitutes • Sharp debridement • Compression dressings • Total contact casting and off-loading • Advanced dressings and biologics • Arterial and venous testing • Radiographic and laboratory testing • Wound culture and biopsy • Antibiotic/IV management

While a subspecialty certification in Hyperbaric Medicine strongly preferred, the successful completion of ACGME/AOA accredited residency training program and either current specialty board certification by ABMS or AOA or active participation in the examination process leading to certification by a specific specialty board is acceptable.

Requirements include a strong clinical practice; experiential background and/or sub-specialty fellowship training; a sincere desire to lead in a clinic-based practice environment managing the treatment of patients with chronic/acute wounds, edema and hyperbaric medicine needs.

The successful candidate will be a BE/BC family or internal medicine physician, general or vascular surgeon with broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills related to the practice of medicine and wound care, with relevant training and certification in hyperbaric medicine. The work schedule consists of a traditional clinic work week, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities limited to telephone calls.  The Center does not presently offer emergency hyperbaric treatments.

This opportunity includes medical direction of the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine program. Privileges on the Saratoga Hospital Medical Staff will include the ability to consult, assess, diagnose and provide treatment to patients of all ages. Privileges for hyperbaric oxygen therapy include treatment of approved indications as outlined by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).

The ideal candidate will commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care.  As a member of the medical group, the selected physician will need to hold a current ACLS certificate, obtain full New York medical licensure and hold an unrestricted DEA certificate.
