As an Emergency Medicine Physician and Officer on the U.S. Army health care team, you will have access to the latest and most advanced technology and techniques. You will lead a well-trained critical response team when patients require immediate medical attention working alongside many dedicated professionals at the top of their fields in one of our state-of-the-art medical facilities. Benefits

Benefits include a $50,000 annual bonus (you must have completed a residency program in your specialty), and up to $250,000 for repayment of education loans (up to $40,000 maximum per year). If you are currently in residency, our specialized training assistance program can provide you a monthly stipend of more than $2,275 while you are enrolled in an accredited residency program.

Army Reserve (Part-time)

  • Accession Bonus: Receive a signing bonus of $50,000 a year plus prorated incentive pay (you must have completed an accredited residency program for this benefit)
  • Loan Repayment: Receive $250,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP).
  • Specialized Training Assistance: Monthly stipend while enrolled in an accredited residency program. Recipients must be a U.S. citizen and will serve in the Army Reserve after completing residency.
  • Insurance: Low cost comprehensive healthcare and dental plans for you and your family.
  • Travel opportunities, to include humanitarian missions.
  • Flexible retirement plan with matching contributions competitive with civilian 401k plans.

Active Duty (Full-Time)

  • Sign-on Accession Bonus (4-year Obligation): $300,000 paid out over a 4-year obligation.
  • Loan Repayment: Receive $120,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Active Duty Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (ADHPLRP).
  • Incentive Pay: $49,000 annually plus eligibility for a retention bonus.
  • Location: Over 40 locations stateside and several more overseas, including Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, Germany, and Korea.
  • Time Off: 30 days paid vacation annually plus over 20 days for federal holidays and "Days of no Scheduled Activities."
  • Practice True Medicine: No malpractice insurance premiums, no overhead costs, no dealing with insurance companies, no productivity goals.
  • Insurance: No-cost healthcare and dental insurance for you. Low-cost healthcare and dental insurance for your family.

Requirements Include

  • Doctors in Residency are encouraged to apply for our STIPEND program
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residence (Reserve only).
