Essential Job Responsibilities (primarily include):

  • Identify medical needs and other health risks and needs.
  • Ability to perform an assessment/evaluation and formulate a differential diagnosis with initial treatment plan for patients presenting to an urgent care.  
  • Provide services necessary to ameliorate minor illnesses or injuries and to assess  patients to determine whether additional or emergency level of care is indicated.
  • Evaluation of worker’s compensation injuries and occupational health care, including “fitness to work”, disability and related evaluations
  • Ability to administer local anesthetics; pelvic examination; repair of simple lacerations; general wound care; initial minor burn management; stabilization of non-displaced fractures; incision and drainage of superficial abscesses; soft instrumentation/irrigation of the skin or subcutaneous tissue; nail trephine techniques.
  • Diagnostics: ordering of routine serum/blood/urine laboratory testing, soft tissue/urine/genital cultures, mononucleosis screening, initial interpretation of radiographs, interpretation of electrocardiograms.
  • Routine history & physical examinations and breast/genital/rectal examinations.
  • Ability to complete initial management of concussions.
  • Maintain accurate legible and confidential records, updating and recording changes in health status.
  • Formulate the appropriate differential diagnosis based on the history, physical examination and clinical findings.
  • Prescribe non-pharmacological therapies and pharmacological agents appropriately.
  • Accurately conduct and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Participate as a team member in the provision of health care, interacting with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care through clinical integration.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews on a periodic basis, including systematic review of records
  • Maintain current knowledge by attending educational programs.
  • Maintain certification in compliance with current state law.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Inspira Code of Conduct, department-specific compliance policies and procedures, and reporting potential violations in compliance.
  • Provide wound care, dressing and packing changes.
  • Utilize and refer to alternative medicine as needed/appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Inspira team to facilitate patient progression through the system.
  • Other skill sets consistent with the standards of practice in urgent care and as set forth by the Urgent Care Association
  • Serve as a resource for medical assistants with regard to patient care and patient/family questions.

Position/Title:  Physician

MAJOR FUNCTION:  Directs the clinical delivery of medical care and is responsible for maintaining relationships and coordinating activities of physicians and mid-level providers, clinical staff, and operations.  Oversees the development of clinical content in the company materials. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Education: Medical degree from an accredited university required.
  2. Experience: Post-residency required. 
  3. Certification/Licensure:  Board certification in family practice, emergency medicine, or another ABMS recognized specialty required. NJ State and federal licensure    
  4. Within six months the Physician shall obtain and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.   Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an acceptable alternative to BLS certification
  5. New Jersey Medical License
  6. Board Certification or Board Eligibility
  7. CDS and DEA licensed
  8. NRCME certification on hire or within 3 months of start date ( required to perform DOT exams)
  9. Completion of New Jersey Student-Athlete Cardiac Assessment Professional Development Module and certification.
