The Department of OB/GYN is currently seeking full-time dedicated staff members to serve as Hospitalist/Laborist at our maternity hospitals, located in the Western and Eastern suburbs of Cleveland. The Department of OB/GYN within the Obstetrics & Gynecology Institute (OGI) at the Cleveland Clinic is a nationally recognized academic program with a unique residency program and multiple fellowships. Our primary maternity units at Fairview & Hillcrest Hospitals have busy obstetrical services, with 4500 -5500 deliveries annually. These hospitals provide level IV maternal level care and level III neonatal care.
The Hospitalist/Laborist is a critical part of our group practice model and oversees perinatal safety at the birthing center with responsibility over both quality and safety. The Hospitalist/Laborist functions as the team lead for the provider group within labor and delivery. Our highly integrated and supportive obstetric team consists of Hospitalist/Laborist, OB/GYN Hospitalists, OB/GYN Generalists, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, and Residents. The Hospitalist/Laborist role involves managing the obstetric unit, participating in labor management, obstetric triage and support of maternal fetal medicine service. The Hospitalist/Laborist also provides support and consultation to midwifery and Family Medicine services.
