South Texas Health System McAllen, formerly known as McAllen Medical Center, is a 441-bed hospital that is the only designated advanced Level III Trauma Center for Hidalgo County, and its NICU remains the region's only neonatal surgical center. The hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center. Services provided at the hospital include advanced wound care, maternity care, neurosurgery and orthopedics.
