Environment:
Position does not function as triage nurse. Duties include a lot of specialty work, including:
We currently have 6 hospitalists, all of whom are Med/Peds, along with 1 PA and 1 NP. We are recruiting Med/Peds only for this program. They cover the ICU, managing ventilators, and do their own procedures. They admit adult medical patients, surgical co-management, medical co-management, pediatric wards, nursery, attend c-sections, and staff multidisciplinary rounds. Our hospital's geographic location is perfect to make a med/peds hospitalist program possible. Schneck has approximately 100 beds and is very progressive and has a physician friendly administrative team. The greatest aspect of this job is the teamwork amongst the group. It is uniquely amazing! The average age of our medical staff is 44 (that’s young). The medical staff here are extremely collegial and work well together. The OB/GYNs are all great to work with as well as our specialty physicians and surgeons. Each physician sees around 15-18 contacts per day depending on the acuity of the service.
