About the Opportunity

Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Interventional Cardiology Fellow for the 2025-2026 academic year. This one-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship offers advanced training in diagnostic and interventional procedures, including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), radial artery access, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), and adjunctive therapies such as atherectomy and thrombectomy. Fellows will also gain experience to peripheral angiography, structural heart interventions (such as ASD/PFO closure), and select endovascular procedures. The program emphasizes hands-on clinical experience, complemented by weekly didactic sessions including cath conferences, journal clubs, and case reviews, allowing fellows to develop strong technical skills and clinical judgement.

Eligible candidates must have successfully completed an accredited general cardiology fellowship and be board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease. Strong clinical skills, a commitment to academic excellence, and a focus on patient-centered care are essential for success. Fellows will work closely with a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team, actively participating in pre-procedural planning, technical execution, documentation, and post-procedural management. Please note that J-1 visas are not sponsored for this position. This is an exceptional opportunity to train within a supportive, high-volume program offering cutting-edge technology and a wide range of interventional experiences. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply here or contact the program directly at gme@rhc.net.
