The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a plastic surgeon to join the Department of Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Services. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Department Overview:

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center located in Columbus, Ohio under the direction of Amy Moore, MD, FACS, Chair is recruiting an exceptional General Plastic Surgeon to complement our well-established team.  The Department has 20 full-time faculty, 5 faculty at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and 9 community faculty who are committed to the tripartite mission of clinical excellence, research and education.  Our independent residency has 3 residents, and our integrated residency program has 23 residents. We have four fellows in microsurgery, peripheral nerve and pediatric plastic surgery.  We are the referral center for central Ohio to provide comprehensive Plastic Surgery care at Wexner Medical Center and the James Comprehensive Cancer Center of The Ohio State University.

Position Overview:

The Department of Plastic Surgery is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeon to serve as Associate Program Director for its growing Residency Program. Working closely with the Program Director, the Associate Program Director will help oversee the selection, training, and evaluation of residents, ensuring that all curricular and clinical requirements are met while providing mentorship and guidance to residents throughout their education.

 

Key responsibilities include implementing and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to grievance and due process, duty hours, resident selection, evaluation and promotion, disciplinary actions, and resident supervision. The Associate Program Director will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective and supportive learning environment across all teaching sites.

 

The selected candidate will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of plastic surgery education within the Department.

Requirements:

  • D. or D.O
  • Completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery Residency Program
  • Board certification or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery
  • Strong interests in Resident Education and Program Enhancement
  • Eligible for an Ohio Medical License

Compensation Package:

Salary: Commensurate with experience level, $10,000 Relocation Assistance
