Full Time Faculty Position Pediatric Pulmonologist

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) in Springdale, Arkansas, are seeking a Pediatric Pulmonologist to join as a faculty member in a freestanding pediatric community hospital-based pediatric pulmonary practice.

Join a reputable practice with board certified pediatric pulmonologist and advanced practice provider, fully equipped respiratory therapy department, multiple other pediatric subspecialties and allied health, with well-established collaboration and support from pediatric pulmonary team at Arkansas Children’s located in Little Rock.  This team consists of 10 pulmonologists, 2 sleep specialists, advanced practice/specialty nurses, Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine fellows, respiratory therapists, social workers and nutrition specialists.

 

The Opportunity:

  • Predominantly outpatient practice concentrating on active pulmonary and sleep collaboration in multidisciplinary programs including cystic fibrosis, aerodigestive, complex care, neuromuscular disease, pulmonary hypertension, asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, chronic ventilation, and craniofacial, among others.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Arkansas.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics and sub-specialty, as appropriate.

Pediatric Pulmonary Practice within Arkansas Children’s Health System:

  • Nationally recognized and ranked #29 in US News and World Report, with externally funded research in a variety of fields, including cystic fibrosis, asthma, pulmonary pharmacology, pediatric control of breathing, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and more.
  • The only accredited Pediatric Sleep Disorders Center in the state, with robust pediatric sleep studies, multidisciplinary adherence clinics, and innovative telehealth programs.
  • More than 16,000 outpatient visits/procedures and over 7,000 PFTs annually.
  • A large, innovative home ventilator program, with a large outpatient population of respiratory technology-dependent children, jointly shared between ACNW and ACH.
  • Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship with three fellows, and a strong educational program with multiple educational offerings and opportunities for all faculty that are offered in-person and virtually between ACNW and ACH.
  • State-wide childhood asthma program in partnership with Allergy/Immunology.
  • The only Cystic Fibrosis Center, accredited Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Pediatric Sleep Disorders Centers in the state, with CF clinics at ACNW as well as ACH.
