Henry Ford St. John Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Faculty physician to join the team. The Family Medicine Residency Program was established in 1973, and there are seven residents per year in the program.
This is an employed position consisting of 40% dedicated clinical time, 20-30% teaching/precepting and 30-40% residency administration/research time.
The well-established family medicine residency clinic is in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and is part of the excellent teaching program at nearby Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
There are 500 clinic visits per week. Types of outpatient visits include full scope family medicine and office procedures. The clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-7:00pm and Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
The clinic/residency team includes eight faculty physicians, a PhD behavioral medicine specialist, a care coordinator and a pharmacy team. There is a lab on-site.
Inpatient census average is 10 patients/day and rounding is shared on a rotational basis with a schedule of 1:9 weeks.

Located in Detroit, Henry Ford St. John Hospital serves as a 24-hour emergency center with both a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The 714-bed hospital provides expert care across multiple specialties, including cardiology, oncology, stroke management, orthopedics, neurology as well as a specialty children's hospital and advanced neonatal care. Our campus integrates a range of medical services, including robotic-assisted procedures, imaging and lab testing, and a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation center.
