The Opportunity

• Up to $100k sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
• Clinical shifts are required.
• The EMS Medical Director is the Vituity leader, accountable for EMS oversight, quality review, education and outreach.
• The EMS Medical Director represents Vituity to patients, the hospital, health systems, EMS districts, governmental agencies, providers and the local community.
• Medical Direction
• Communicate and promote Vituity's mission, vision, values, culture, and strategy.
• Ensure accurate and compliant EMS medical protocols.
• Review case reports, quality concerns and ongoing Peer review related to EMS medical care.
• Educate ED Medical Directors, and ED providers on EMS protocols, and policies regarding EMS care and communication.
• EMS Outreach and Education
• Possess a full understanding of EMS and health system expectations and ensure compliance.
• Develop, implement and monitor an annual outreach and education plan.
• Cooperate with health system educators and leadership to ensure physician oversight and involvement in outreach and educational measures.
• Plan and execute annual events with EMS leadership and providers to ensure engagement in the clinical and operational goals of partner entities.
• Represent health system interests on the Regional and State level committees
• Client Relationships
• Ensure practice is appropriately represented and demonstrates their value through leadership roles (as applicable) and/or participation with hospital management, medical staff leadership, Medical Executive, Medical Staff and other hospital committees, and within the local community.

Required Experience and Competencies

• Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program required.
• Completion of EMS Fellowship required.
• Superior clinical skills in order to serve as role model by setting high standards.
• Administrative experience, operational experience preferred, and aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to motivate physicians and APs, work successfully with a diversity of people and locations, maintain good working relationships. Ability to establish effective relationships quickly with both clients and non-clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Practice

HSHS St. John's Hospital - Springfield, Illinois

• 457-bed tertiary care hospital with a children's hospital.
• 31-bed main ED as well as 3 trauma bays.
• Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
• STEMI Receiving Center, interventional stroke and cardiac.
• All core subspecialties available excluding transplant.
• Site resources include PEDS EM physician from 12pm-10pm, Behavioral Health response team, and in-house trauma service/ICU.
• Vituity-staffed hospitalists and intensivists offer integrated care solutions at this site.
