Surgical Pathologist - Medical University of South Carolina

Join a team that’s Changing What’s Possible – The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) under MUSC Community Physicians seeks a General Surgical Pathologist in one of our coastal regions outside of Charleston, SC.

We are seeking:

  • MD or equivalent degree with pathology specialty training and certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Eligible or currently possess medical licensure in South Carolina.
  • Experience in fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues, clinicians and researchers as well as serving as a resource to technologists at the bench.
  • Excellent communication skills, work ethic, and team player approach to patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Sign off on surgical pathology cases, including thoracic, gastrointestinal, general surgical pathology, non-gyn cytopathology, rapid onsite evaluation (ROSE), frozen section and intraoperative consultation and breast oncologic pathology.
  • Involvement in tumor boards.
  • Shared on-call coverage
