Staff Physician - Pediatric Physical Medicine & Rehab - Norton Children's Hospital

Norton Children’s Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:

NORTON CHILDREN’S PHYSICAL MEDICINE & REHABILITATION, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine and a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking a pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. The practice sees over 400 patients annually, offering specialty care to children with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, spina bifida, spasticity and many other conditions. The rehabilitation team works closely with families to create unique treatment plans that address the needs of each child, including all aspects of a child’s quality-of life function. These plans and goals are created using current technology, research and rehab techniques in addition to play and age-appropriate activities. Close collaboration with each family ensures that everyone knows what to expect from the treatment plan.

Services Provided:

  • The practice sees over 400 patients annually, offering specialty care to children with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, spina bifida, spasticity and many other conditions
  • Comprehensive team approach to maximize skills for daily living and recreation
  • Focus on school reintegration at the start of treatment
  • Diagnosis and treatment of pain resulting from injury, illness or disability condition
  • Botox treatment for spasticity, refractory torticollis and drooling

 

About The Position:

  • Multi-member practice with active academic and clinical duties
  • The multidisciplinary team of therapists includes Pediatric Rehabilitation Physician, Pediatric Nurse Coordinator, Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Recreation Therapists and pet therapy, Pulmonary Therapists, Dieticians and Case Managers/school liaisons.
  • Opportunities to participate in community outreach clinic, multidisciplinary clinics and pediatric subspecialties in all major disciplines
  • Collaboration with the University of Louisville School of Medicine
  • Robust consulting service at Norton Children’s Hospital and ability to admit patients to inpatient rehabilitation to UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute
  • Competitive salary that includes the opportunity for bonus compensation, a signing bonus, relocation reimbursement, continuing medical education funds, licensure reimbursements, four weeks of paid vacation during the first year and more
  • Five-day work week with on-call coverage split among all providers
