Ophthalmologist needed in Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY

AdvantageCare Physicians is seeking a highly skilled BE/BC to join our Brooklyn region. This is a full-time opportunity. Come join our highly respected, passionate team of Ophthalmologists in an outpatient setting. While the position entails the full range of general ophthalmology, a strong background in the evaluation and treatment of glaucoma is greatly preferred.

The Ideal Candidate:

• One to three years of ophthalmology clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
• Ability to treat and diagnose a wide variety of ophthalmology conditions and improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained.
• Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interest in Population Health Management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review patient histories and reports. Perform physical examinations.
• Record examination information; Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
• Perform routine eye exams and treat eye diseases, such as macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma.
• Diagnose and treat a wide variety of eye disorders.
• Perform surgical procedures weekly.
• Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
• Recommend suitable management for the patient, including but not limited to, preventive health recommendations and habits.
• Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient’s psychosocial and physical needs.
• Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.
• Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
