Moonlighting Psychiatrist Opportunity in Williamsburg, Virginia - $140/hour

Eastern State Hospital (ESH), located in Williamsburg, Virginia, is seeking BC/BE Psychiatrists with fully, unrestricted Virginia medical licenses to serve as Medical Officer on Duty (MOD) and provide onsite psychiatric / medical coverage for an acute inpatient adult psychiatric population. This position offers the flexibility to work weeknights, weekends and holidays and is a great opportunity for physicians looking to augment their income and gain experience in the assessment and triage of psychiatric and general medical conditions.

Highlights:

  • Moonlighting shifts are 12-hours (weeknights and holidays) and 15-hours (weekends) and can be worked consecutively but cannot exceed 48 consecutive hours or 1,560 hours worked per calendar year.
  • MOD must stay onsite for the entire shift and has access to a fully, furnished bedroom located in our MOD lounge.
  • Must be available to work at least 2 shifts per month. Shifts are scheduled based on availability/preference.
  • Malpractice insurance is covered by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday:   5PM - 8AM (12-hour shift)
Weekends:           8AM - 8PM and 8PM - 8AM (15-hour shifts)
Holidays:              8AM - 5PM and 5PM - 8AM (12-hour shifts)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
  • Completion or current enrollment in an accredited/approved psychiatry residency training program.
  • Licensed to practice Medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Valid DEA Registration
