Do You Love Providing Direct Patient Care and Focusing on Whole-Person Health?

We are looking for a skilled Internist to provide holistic, relationship-centered care for our diverse Ambulatory Care adult patient population. Effective communication and empathy are key, as your ability to connect with patients will impact their mental and emotional well-being. Working with a multi-specialty team, you'll dedicate at least 36 hours per week to direct, comprehensive patient care, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment, builds trust, contributes to quality improvement, and balances teamwork with independent decision-making.

As the clinical leader of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based primary care, emphasizing shared decision-making, patient-family involvement, and self-management
  • Evaluate patient needs, coordinate specialty referrals, and facilitate diagnostic and in-patient care as necessary
  • Provide patients and families with guidance on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment, ensuring understanding of diagnosis and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate, timely records; review test results; prescribe medications; and develop treatment plans aligned with best practices
  • Work closely with the clinical team to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care and actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Ideally, the selected professional will have:

  • Graduated from an accredited medical school
  • Successfully completed a residency program in Internal Medicine
  • Minimum 2-3 years demonstrated experience as a General Medicine Physician
  • Strong clinical teaching skills and experience working in a Residency program
  • A current and valid NYS License to practice medicine plus DOH Certificate of Qualification
  • BC/BE in Internal Medicine and BCLS certification
  • Qualification for (teaching) appointment to Medical Staff
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Allscripts and Microsoft Excel
