Addiction Psychiatrist Job Opportunity €“ Poplar Springs Hospital, Petersburg, VA

Poplar Springs Hospital in Petersburg, VA is seeking a dedicated Addiction Psychiatrist to join our compassionate team. This part-time, outpatient role offers a unique opportunity to work with adult patients facing psychiatric and substance abuse challenges.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday €“ Friday, Mornings, 5:30 AM €“ 8:30 AM
• Role: The ideal candidate will oversee admission evaluations, provide daily care to patients, and manage PMHNP oversight.
• No Weekend or Weeknight On-Call: Enjoy work-life balance with no after-hours or weekend calls.
• Compensation: Independent contractor arrangement with the expectation that the Physician provides their own malpractice insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct admission evaluations for new patients
• Oversee the daily care and treatment of adult patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders
• Provide supervision for PMHNPs
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of mental health professionals

Qualifications:

• Education & Licensure: MD/DO degree from an accredited program
• Certification: Board-certified or Board-eligible in Psychiatry
• Addiction Certification: Board-certified in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine
• Licensing: Must be licensed to practice in the State of Virginia
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred
• Military Experience: A plus but not required
