Job Description

Indiana University Health Community Medicine is seeking a Physican Leader (PL) of Obstetrics & Gynecology.  This role is 60% clinical with 40% administrative protected time for leadership-related duties.  Practice options in the Indianapolis Suburban Region at IU Health Community Hospitals include IU North (Carmel), IU West (Avon), IU Saxony (Fishers) or associated outreach locations. 

The PL is accountable for leading, managing, and directing all clinical services to achieve specialty goals. Reporting to the Chief Physician Executive, the PL transforms and sustains the practice, ensuring high-quality, multidisciplinary, comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and accessible services.  The PL works to create an environment that is also compatible with and supportive of the teaching and research missions of the Indiana University School of Medicine. The PL is responsible for the appropriateness, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the medical care delivered. Responsibilities include overseeing the appropriateness, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of medical care, with a focus on driving operational excellence and fostering growth.

As a representative of the specialty, the PL serves as a liaison to practice staff, collaborating with regional leaders and IU School of Medicine department leadership to:

  • Create and execute variable compensation strategies for providers, including mitigation measures to meet performance goals.
  • Manage strategic initiatives related to the IU Health Medical Group, including the expansion or contraction of the service line.
  • Partner with Medical Director of Laborist program to meet facility needs.
  • Lead performance and HR-related issues for ambulatory providers.
  • Hospital based performance and/or HR-related issues are led by the hospital CMO and hospital med-staff.
  • Oversee provider scheduling and templates.
  • Regularly facilitate provider check-ins and all-provider meetings.

Qualifications 

  • Leadership experience, 5+ years preferred
  • ABMS Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Indiana
