GME- Internal Medicine Residency Faculty Member

Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, a distinguished 427-bed non-profit hospital and regional referral center, invites applications for an Internal Medicine Residency Faculty Member position. Serving an extensive 17-county region in Athens and northeast Georgia, our center provides a Level II trauma center, a Level III NICU, and a vast network of esteemed primary care physicians and specialists dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to patients across all age groups.

Role Requirements:

  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine (ABIM or AOBIM).
  • Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Georgia.
  • At least two years of clinical experience preferred, with openness to considering emerging talents in the field.
  • A strong dedication to comprehensive and compassionate patient care.

Role Details:

  • The role is primarily academic/administrative with a clinical practice component.
  • Key responsibilities include mentoring and guiding residents, supervising residents in clinic, delivering both small group and lecture-based education, and serve as an advisor to residents.

Piedmont Athens Regional is one of northeast Georgia’s largest not-for-profit hospitals. The 427-bed, acute care hospital joined the Piedmont family in 2016 and features a regional Level II trauma center and Level III neonatal ICU.
